| production method | 1. Nitrous acid sulfuric acid can be generated by reacting fuming nitric acid with sulfur dioxide. A flask with a gas introduction tube and a gas discharge tube was used as the reactor, and the gas introduction tube was inserted close to the bottom of the flask. Fuming nitric acid (relative density of 1 μ60) was charged into the flask and the flask was cooled with an ice-salt bath. The thoroughly dried SO2 gas is slowly introduced, and heat is released during the reaction. Care should be taken not to make the temperature of the reaction mixture exceed 5 °c. The passage of SO2 was continued until the reaction mixture became a thick paste, mainly nitrosyl sulfuric acid and a small amount of unreacted liquid nitric acid. The crystals were filtered with suction using a glass sand core funnel and washed with glacial acetic acid and ccl4. Finally, the product was placed in a desiccator and dried on P2O5. |
